Saturday
Took a spin up to Kilmany to see if the Hawfinches were about, it's  along time since i've seen one. A scarce bird in Fife, in fact a scarce bird anywhere in Scotland really with the most reliable site being Scone Palace, Perth and Kinross (I saw an impressive flock of 18 there a few years ago).
No luck for me, I'm sure they were there somewhere but there is lots of good habitat, difficult to view in private grounds.

I did see the flock of 19 Waxwing that have been reported the last few days at the entrance to Mountcastle Quarry.

Sunday. First visit of the spring to Ferryhills and nice to be back on the patch. Still a bit early for this far north but a handful of Meadow Pipits and alba wagtails went through. It's a start.
