A couple of visits to the patch at Feryhills for vis mig watches mainly produced northbound Pinkfeet and Meadow Pipits with a definite highlight of a migrant Short-eared Owl circling high over the Forth.
Monday 9th produced my first Willow Warbler, Swallow and 2 Wheatear of the year in the Eden Estuary area but these were eclipsed by a very close encounter with an Osprey from the Fife Bird Club Hide at Edenside.
| Blue YD was fledged in Angus in 2012, fitted with a satellite transmitter which stopped working in 2014. He was then sighted in Senegal by staff from the Rutland Water Osprey project in 2016. |
