July 27th
Single Honey Buzzard and Goshawk seen somewhere.

Also a few more odds and ends from last weekend and the week. Both work and play happened to have taken me in the direction of St Abbs Head on a few occasions recently. After seeing the events off Northumberland and Yorkshire involving a Feas and an influx of Cetaceans, I thought it was well worth squeezing in the odd short seawatch.
No such delights for me, just my first Arctic Skua and Bonxie of the autumn, a small number of Manxies and a calling Whimbrel heading South with 8 Curlew. It was also nice to see plenty of butterflies on the wing last weekend at St Abbs, Several Grayling, Ringlet, Meadow Brown and best of all a Northern Brown Argus.

Grayling doing it's best to look like a lichen covered rock

A slightly tatty Northern Brown Argus at the end of their flight period

Shoveler with young at Letham from last weekend.
