Last week.
A second calendar year Goshawk was a nice surprise crossing the A9 as I was driving to a survey.

This weekend, tried to locate some crepuscular forest species in Fife. Some great looking habitat on a perfect still warm evening but hopes of finding a breeding population of Nightjars were not to be. Given this species is a local rarity,  it was always a bit of a long shot but with breeding birds recorded in Dumfries and Galloway and Angus it seemed a reasonable assumption that they could be in Fife.
Roding Woodcock put on a good showing with 8 'contacts,' the furthest 800m apart, so almost certainly several birds involved.
