Holiday Pics

It's been about three weeks since we got back from our cruise down through Biscay, then the Canaries finishing in Madeira. Finally finished sorting all the pics. First experience of a cruise for me and as it was'nt a wildlife based one it was no surprise that I was the only one out on deck with bins, scope and camera looking for seabirds and cetaceans! Plenty of people were keen to find out what I was looking for and when a few migrant passerines came aboard the ship I soon got gripping accounts(and pics) of a Chiffchaff landing on someones hand and 2 Yellow Wagtails being fed crumbs on the sun deck!
It wasn't the best time of the year to get the quality seabirds around the Macronesian islands but I put in plenty of effort on our days at sea and was rewarded with 2 Madeiran Storm Petrel as well as a Little Shearwater. Cory's Shears were numerous around the Canaries and Madeira close to their breeding sites.
Cetaceans included obliging Common Dolphins and great views of two Sei Whales off Gran Canaria.
