Last week returned to Keltneyburn Reserve in Perth and Kinross not for orchids this time but for Dragonflies. The small pond was rammed with Black Darters their peak flight time being around this time of year, while other species seen were Common Hawker, Four Spotted Chaser and Common Emerald Damsel. Also of a note was a single Comma Butterfly, a species that is still uncommon but gradually spreading northwards in Scotland.
