Isle of Wight Day 4
St Catherines Point

Strong South-westerlies and increasingly wet conditions meant seawatching was the only thing to be done today. Not the best conditions for spring passage up the channel but one bird we were hoping for were Manxies and we had a nice total of 101 heading west.

Isle of Wight Day 5
Brading Marshes

The weather had improved overnight and although there was quite a chilly westerly wind it was fairly pleasant once the sun got going. Decided to finish my visit to the IOW with another morning at Brading Marshes before heading off for the journey back north.
The Glossy Ibis was seen again and we got much better views this time as it flew around in the sunshine before landing to feed on a pool near the St Helens Roadbridge. Migrants were thin on the ground, a few hirundines included 10 Sand Martin.
