East Neuk of Fife May 27th

I'm nothing if not persistent so it was back to the east coast to look for migrants with Jon D. The wind was still coming in from the East but the bright sunny weather was never going to be conducive to a fall but  all we wanted was just one RB Shrike.
This was perhaps aiming a bit high and our a sum total was a Lesser Whitethroat and a Spotted Flycatcher at Kilmmining. A check of birdguides in the evening revealed various scarce drift to the North and South of us....

Lesser Whitethroat is uncommon in Fife and the we had decent views of this often skulky  sylvia  warbler.

We found this Buzzard nest in a surprisingly low and exposed conifer.

Corn Bunting are hanging on in the East Neuk of Fife, this bird was at Kilrenny
