July 31st
Vane Farm

Once again there were no notable passage waders, a flock of 74 Curlew had built up on the Carden Flood. It was a pleasure to be out on sunny day though which provided good conditions for photography..

This male Reed Bunt was present along the path to the hides with 3 Juvs. As I approached it performed a distraction display that involved running along in front of me, drooping it's wings and fanning it's tail. Not something I've noticed from this species before.

It may be the end of July but this Sedge Warbler was still keen to proclaim it's territory.

Good to see Ringlet and Green-veined White out in the sun.
