Ballo Res and the Lomond Hills.

A Short-eared Owl hunting rough ground by the Res, always a delight to see. As are Drake Goosander with several amongst a total of 12 on the Res. Other stuff included Raven, Brambling and Dipper.

Ballo Res and the Lomond Hills. This area is in rather stark contrast to the rest of the county of Fife which is rather flat. I get the impression there isn't regular coverage of the Reservoir, although it does have some form, most notably a Long-billed Dowitcher.

  1. Folk used to go up there for Bewick's Swans, but I'm sure you're right - it gets poor coverage. I think you can get Snow Bunts up there too
