A pretty uninspiring blustery day saw me end up at Kinghorn where an hrs seawatch produced 1 Little Auk, 1 GND, 2 Long-tailed Duck( scarcer here on the inner Forth). Loads of gulls moving into the wind, mainly Black-heads and Herring and my fantasy of Ross's Gull never came true.
Later we dropped into Rossie Bog which was fairly quiet, plenty of duck the pick of which were 6 Pintail.
The past week saw me doing vantage points on bleak hills in Ayrshire where a cracking male Hen Harrier livened up one watch.
