Well it's been a while. Thats down to the fact that my wife wanted some winter sun and dosen't like flying. So a months worth of transatlantic cruise to the W Indies and back was in order. I reluctantly agreed to tag along especially as  the inti nary included a few Islands we hadn't been to back in 2012 and  there was a chance of a few more endemics/near endemics.
Just relied on what I could see from near the port or on any tours that went to useful habitat or got a taxi. All very layed back, you are never going to get a big list in the Lesser Antilles but I got 6 lifers and some better looks at other species seen previously, plus I turned from pasty white to slightly pink in the fairly constant 25 degrees C. "Bird" of the trip was possibly the massive iced coffee, baileys and rum cocktail I had in Antigua.
I probably got more excited about the Pom Skua with tail spoons that I saw from the ship as we came into Barbados than the nearby Magnificent Frigatebirds, but even I'm not sad enough to start the Photo's with that one.(Although it will appear later)
Hummingbirds are awesome....

Antillean Crested Hummingbird is a common species throughout the Lesser Antilles. I saw it on the last trip but not as well as this time. I didn't appreciate how the iridescence could change the colour of the  bird dramatically depending on the light. I also didn't see a male perched with his crest up last time. Fortunately this time I got to two places that had feeders for hummers; Rain Forest Experience on St Lucia and Parc De Mammelle on Guadeloupe.

Females lack the head gear.
