Last week-
I was back doing some surveys in North Lincolnshire. In some down time I went back to Blacktoft RSPB Reserve.
As I was walking towards the Ousefleet Hide I could hear some Avocets calling, by the time I got into the hide, other birders greeted me with the news that a Marsh Harrier had flushed them off. Shame as I've haven't seen any for ages. Although I won't hold against the Marsh Harrier particularly as it was a fine adult male.
Otherwise the pools and scrapes were fairly quiet, standard duck and some mega obliging Snipe. The best thing was the flock of around 25 Twite that were flying up from fields onto a hedge bordering the reserve.

Letham and Rossie Bog, Fife this morning:
Not alot, plenty of duck at Letham and 340 Pinkie in the Rossie Bog area.
