Today at Letham...
With some waders already on return passage it's well worth keeping an eye out here for a summer surprise. Not today though. A female Shoveler with 9 ducklings was a good local record.

Of botanical interest, this Common Spotted Orchid is growing on our front lawn in Dunfermline. A bit of a surprising location, but when I looked up some info it turns out that orchids produce a number of tiny sawdust like seeds that can be wind dispersed for long distances.
