Today....
Decent weather and some decent birds to be seen. Very much a meeting of the first arriving summer visitors and departing winter visitors.
The highlight were two Taiga Bean Geese flying NE past Ruddons Point; a locally scarce bird, only the second time I've had this species in Fife. Despite the fact that one of only two regular winter flocks in the UK is relatively close to Fife on the Slamannan Plateau, they are seldom seen on active migration.
A flock of 13 Whooper Swans also went through at Ruddons Point and the calm conditions were ideal for checking on the spring build up of seaduck, divers and grebes. Highlights were 11 Slav and 2 Red-necked Grebe, 3 G N Divers and 320 Velvet Scoter and of course the regular Queen Eider.

Nearby at Kilconquhar Loch no sign of the recent drk Ring-necked Duck but a fine Osprey came over  and single Swallow and Sand Martin were present, the Swallow is my earliest in Scotland.

I fluffed what should have been a decent pic of the Osprey when the auto focus failed so pics are mainly Eider related....
