Last week I was away surveying on the west side of Scotland. Two great raptor encounters; an immature Golden Eagle, probably a second calender year with extensive white tail base (Which dosen't show in the distant  pics or vid below) spending ages circling around the area and a perched Goshawk which I chanced upon as I came round a corner in a ride. Fortunately it had it's back to me so I just froze and was able to clock it on the deck before it eventually  noticed me, gave me the evil eye and melted away through the trees.

Also an Osprey seen and several firsts for the year; a Cuckoo (13th) was followed by an overnight arrival of Willow Warblers plus single Tree Pipit and Grasshopper Warbler (14th).
