Last week I was doing some work down in England, on the way back I stopped on the Northumberland coast; Curlew Sand, Little Egret, Avocet and Med Gull seen. A few hundred miles can make a big difference to the avifauna, if I'd seen this lot in one go in Fife I would have had an extremely good morning.



Yesterday the watch point at Ferryhills saw Tree Pipits taking advantage of a calm morning to start their autumn migration with a high count of 32 heading SW in 2.5 hrs. Later in the day a couple of nice waders at the Wilderness with a Little Stint and Ruff present. Terrible pic of the stint below, waders are generally distant here.
