Last weekend at Ferryhills...
Back from on the Isle of Wight and then out on the patch Friday morning when the highlight was a Great Northern Diver flying inland with Red-throated Divers. Quieter on Sat when the strength of the wind subdued movement but then things picked up on Sunday with Bonxies and Red-throated Divers on overland passage. A total of 22 Bonxie included a super flock of 10 that came right overhead. The total of Red-throats was 74. Meadow Pipits still dominating the passage of passerines with a peak of 681 on Friday.

Juvenile Great Spotted Woodpecker on the move-had a quick rest on a telegraph pole before continuing S.West. |
 |
Awesome sight-a flock of 10 Bonxie approaching from the Firth of Forth. |
 |
Part of the same flock directly overhead. |
