This weekend..
More visible migration watches at Ferryhills. As predicted Meadow Pipit passage picked up rapidly with 566 over on Sat and 624 through on Sunday. Another high count involved 45 Grey Wagtail on Saturday. As expected after a heavy August passage, Tree Pipits starting to decline although still had healthy counts of 26 on Sat and 24 on Sunday.
A small number of grounded migrants included single Redstart, Spotted Flycatcher and Garden Warbler.
The highlight was having Mr Vis Mig himself, Clive R Mckay visit the site on Sunday morning. He managed to grip me off with a site tick Osprey after I left-my own fault for being tempted away to check Letham for waders. What did I see at Letham, well a nice variety although alot of it relates to birds that have been a round for a while; the Spotted Redshank, several Ruff, 2 Greenshank, great views of 4 Water Rail, total of 32 Snipe. Probably the highlight was two really sharp looking White Wagtails.
