Ferryhills this weekend.

Sat.

More rain in the forecast than expected which killed off the Tree Pipit passage but probably helped with bringing some waders to lower level-a single Greenshank and 4 Golden Plover were decent patch birds.

Sun.

Normal service resumed in calm conditions and mostly clear skies with an excellent total of 134 Tree Pipit over in just over 2 hrs. I started early but had to leave early, it could well have been another 200 plus day.
A real bonus  was a patch first Merlin which was the first bird I saw as I arrived at 05:30, flew right past me and then across the Forth to Lothian.
