Another collection of pics from around Scotland. Locally in Fife last weekend saw wader passage underway at the Wilderness where water levels have dropped. Species present included 21 Black-tailed Godwit, 3 Common Sandpiper and a Snipe.

Presumed Juv Parrot Crossbill. One of an elusive family party flying around. Bill shape and sheer bulk of head/neck suggest this species and the excitement calls sounded right too. Compare with a presumed Juv Scottish Crossbill taken elsewhere earlier in the year (below).



The amazing run of hot weather continues which was benefiting odonata including four-spotted chaser and  emerald damselfly
