May 19th
Fife.
North-east winds and drizzle/mist looked promising so me and the wife headed in the direction of Fife Ness area stopping on route to check the floods at Letham and Rossie. These were a let down considering the conditions; not a single passage wader.
Consoling ourselves with a scone at the Balgove Larder, St Andrews, news came through of a Red-backed Shrike at Kilminning.
Watched this cracking male for a bit near the entrance and it turned out there were actually two with other observers watching another nearby at the same time. Couldn't find much else of note and then dropped into Denburn Wood after. This was as pants for migrants as always when we try it, couldn't even find the Pied Fly seen earlier.
