At Ferry Hills, since the bro returned down south, watches have been fairly quiet the latter part of last week, not helped by unsettled weather conditions. Today Sunday Sept 1st, saw a cold front slowly moving out of the way and in the bright and breezy conditions some birds were  keen to move with the first big passage of meadow pipits (507) as well as 5 Bonxie heading inland. Tree Pipits still coming through but starting to decline (36 today).

Sat 31st, a much needed clear out of the garage and a visit to Dalgety Bay recycling centre had me thinking about a birding location I could tie in. Cullaloe fitted the bill and with recent reports of the water levels being lowered at the old reservoir, I fancied a check for waders (Site has history particularly with Pectoral Sandpiper).
Setting up at the viewing screen it was quickly obvious there were no waders. There were over 90 teal present so I thought to myself 'better check through for Garganey', and sure enough there was one.
