The work situation (i.e. being chained to a laptop writing reports) continues to allow regular early morning visits to the patch at Ferry Hills. But even at the weekend (21st-22nd) I couldn't stay away despite conditions looking good for drift migrants tempting me to consider going to Boarhills, I never got there.

Highlights since the last update include an increase in Red-throated Diver passage (peak of 104 on 22nd), a Great Northern Diver (flying inland 20th) continuing strong passage of Meadow Pipit (peak of 885 on 13th), what will probably be the last Tree Pipit (20th) and a peak of  31 alba wagtail (21st).

A strong passage of Arctic Skua over the weekend of 21st-22nd with a day count of 25 on the latter date. I experimented with some  return visits after the morning session  in the afternoon/evening and found this could be good when it was a day for skua movement.

Weekend of the 21st-22nd was good for Arctic Skuas including these two Juvs heading inland.

A flock of 8 Grey Heron was unusual on the 22nd, they came in low and landed in the quarry in the morning. Then when I returned in the evening I saw them depart in small groups to the South-west so presumably passage migrants.
