Back again this weekend in the hope of some drift migrants with the wind in the East and a bit of cloud cover. In the event the only migrant was a Spotted Fly, although not that common a bird in Fife. Nice headland though; compact but with enough cover to hold birds and I think I will cover this one more in the autumn. It's not all about migrants here and it was nice to see breeding species such as Lapwing and Grey Partridge. I'm also told it's a good site for Butterflies.
Nearby the approach road to Shell Bay produced a very confiding Grasshopper Warbler singing from rank bankside vegetation. Watched this bird turning it's head from side to side to project it's reeling song and also having a brief territorial spat with a second male Gropper.
