Sunday July 17th saw no sign of the previous weekends influx of Goosander in Shell Bay but there was an increase in Sandwich Terns with 26 present including Juveniles. At one point many of the terns that had been resting on the beach took to the air alarming. Something was certainly up and I then located an Adult Peregrine on the sands already tearing into what was probably a Juv Sarnie. Otherwise rather quiet although around 400 Swift made an impressive sight as they moved slowly west ahead of a rain front as I scanned inland from Kincraig Head.
