May 13th
The spring is in danger of slipping away again without much to shout about on the Fife Coast. A Wryneck and few other bits on the Isle of May yesterday was enough to get me out to Kincraig Pt but conditions were difficult in an increasingly strong South-wester. Eventually in a sheltered corner of the beach I found a Whimbrel  and a female Wheatear, probably Greenland race.

The birds long winged appearance and russet tones suggest Greenland.
