May 22nd-24th
Survey Site in Argyll and Bute.

Easily my best weeks birding in 2012 for a variety of reasons; stunning scenery, good weather and some quality  birds:

Dawn in Argyll and Bute

I suddenly heard the sound of wings overhead and looked up to see a Peregrine taking out a Wood Pigeon  and then  proceed to start plucking it on the wing.

The birch and oak woodland on the lower slopes were full of singing Wood Warblers (plus  Redstart, Spotted Fly and Tree Pipit).
