August 18th
Kilminning, Fife

Went to see the now infamous "Kilminning Warbler" that has been through several identifications, although spent several days as an Eastern  Olivaceous. Have to admit on my initial views it looked pretty good for an EOW to me going on my limited experience of the species. However having now seen photos that show a yellowish underwing this option is ruled out.
The bird has finally ended up as just a Chiffchaff on birdguides.

I know there are some feathers missing around the head but even allowing for this, the bill seems very long and sturdy.

Whatever this bird is I'm still not convinced about the Chiffchaff theory
