Sept 25th
NE gales and reports of scarce seabirds from the previous day. Great, only one problem, I have to be in Dumfries and Galloway by late afternoon. I manage two hours from dawn at Carlingnose Pt which on any other day would have gone down as a good watch-Ad LT Skua, 3 Poms(2 Pale Ads with spoons, 1 Juv), 6 Arctic, 11 Bonxie, Little Gull, Arctic Tern. Time to leave, 2 Bonxie flying over the road bridge as I drive across and the texts start to roll in.. Leachs, Sabs big numbers of skuas.

Sept 26th-28th.
Somewhat cheered up by a Goshawk that flew past me in Dumfries and Galloway. Also 2 Willow Tit were were the first of this declining species I have seen in years. Close views of two birds plus plenty of nasal calling.
