This weekend was pretty much a re-run of last with us ending up wandering around in the sun at Kilminning seeing zero migrants. Being an enternal optimist I figured that it was worth another try before the spring came to a close, particularly after the heavy rain and easterlies Sat night. Having lived up here for a few years I should be used to how localised arrivals of migrants can be on the Scottish E coast but it was still a bit gutting to check birdguides later and see Two-barred xbill and Greenish Warbler in Lothian and Icky in the Borders.
It's good to go birding with my wife at times like this as she reminds me there is more to life than rare and scarce, we saw some lovely Red Admirals and had amazing views of a Corn Bunting...

This flowering tree, which i think is a Swedish Whitebeam, was proving attractive to Red Admirals
