Last week, away working in England again. A large influx of LBB Gulls had taken place since my last visit. Reports of Caspian Gulls on Birdguides made think I should really stop and check one of these flocks if the chance arose... not always straightforward on narrow but often busy country roads.
One day as I was finishing up I came across a flock next to a convenient pull in. Didn't expect to get lucky with the first check of a flock but it wasn't long before I was on to a classic looking Adult Caspian Gull, also 3 Yellow-legged Gulls.

I would never profess to be a gull expert, but this bird really stood out at times when it adopted a posture that showed off it's unique Jizz to the full. Namely a long sloping forehead, slim bill lacking a gonys angle, full breast but slim attenuated rear end. The leg's were long, especially the tibia and a very pale creamy pink in colour.

Caspian on the right, the beady dark eyes were also distinctive.
Adult Yellow-legged Gull.
