Today's theme; birds I took for granted when I lived down south, that are still uncommon in Scotland.....
After dropping the missus at Leven for more bead making, I found myself back on the same area of Fife Coast as last weekend. Bit too windy to look for seaduck this time so I went out onto Cocklemill Marsh looking for Jack Snipe.
No Jacks but a Little Egret with colour rings. Little Egrets  are starting to get a little more frequent in Scotland but they are still a bird that takes you by surprise up here. First one I've seen at this locality.
A quick stop off at Kilconquhar Loch found a decent number of gulls dropping in and I picked out a lovely Ad Med Gull. I've seen very few of these in Scotland.

In the week while carrying out some surveys an unexpected Juv White-tailed Eagle seen somewhere over the Clyde being mobbed by a Peregrine. Presumably a wanderer from Argyll.
