Yesterday evening-
The Temmincks Stint that has been present on and off at Vane Farm the last three weeks showed again from the Carden Hide, but kept it's distance.

Today at Letham-
A female Teal with a brood of 7 ducklings appears to be a good Fife record judging from the local bird reports. Not recorded annually but likely that this secretive species is overlooked. After a few minutes she took her young deep into the vegetation and didn't reappear. In general a good year for breeding duck here with at least 6 broods of Gadwall, 2 broods of Tufty (so far..only just seen these first two broods from this late breeding species this weekend) and of course ubiquitous mallards. One thing missing is Shoveler, there are adult birds around but no young so far.
Waders are still a bit disappointing here-we just can't seem to get a long enough dry run of weather  to bring the water levels down a tad. Today the most noteworthy were 3 Snipe, 3 Common Sandpiper and the 2 Redshank young.

The Temmincks was always distant but if you get your timing right there is some good habitat for it right outside the hide.
