Yesterday, Fife
At Letham it was fairly quiet with the water levels high (haven't had a repeat of the conditions in 2013 when the water levels were perfect throughout the autumn wader passage period) although Water Rails continue to give good views and there is some edge for waders.
I decided to try another wader site nearby, the Wilderness, and this currently has much better areas of shallow water and exposed mud than Letham. This was reflected in the variety of waders present;
1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Little Ringed Plover, 3 Black-tailed Godwit, 5 Common Sands, 1 Ringed Plover as well as Lapwing, Curlew, Oystercatcher.
