Today..
Decided to continue my theme, started last weekend, of exploring sites in the West of Fife that I tend to neglect. This time Devilla Forest, a nice mix of coniferous (mainly Scots Pine) and deciduous with clearings. A Great Grey Shrike had been seen here a few weeks ago and there is certainly some excellent habitat for a wintering one here but it's a big area, will have to try again. A nice mix of woodland finches with Brambling and a few Crossbills over, some ok views of Redpoll flocks but not quite good enough to confirm any mealies.

Green Woodpecker is one of those species I tend to forget about in Fife. I was so used to tripping over them when I lived down south but they are rather localised in Scotland and you really have a to make an effort to find them.
