Saturday
The patch at Ferryhills in light rain, no evidence of any grounded migrants. A Whimbrel flew over and also had brief views of a likely Hobby which I lost behind the treeline before I could be certain.

Sunday

Letham.

Not one passage wader but the place was a hive of activity with local breeding birds, particularly nice to see two pairs of Lapwing with 2 chicks apiece. There was also a wintry theme going on with a Whooper Swan displaying to the Mutes and 5 tardy Pink-footed Geese present.

Kilminning

Predictably quiet, a Spotted Flycatcher at the top end got my hopes up but that was that.

Crail

Salvaged something from the trek out to the E Neuk by dropping in on the Yellow Wagtail reported earlier in the week. A fine male singing from a tatty field.

This singing  male Yellow Wag was close to where a small group were present last year. The area has breeding habitat very much like where you find them in East Anglia-vegetable and arable crops with drainage ditches.
