June 23rd.
Letham, Fife.
Really felt this site would eventually turn up a Temminck's Stint as the habitat looks great for one. The spring passage didn't deliver but today I found a summer adult which would presumably be a bird on return passage
south at this late stage in June.
Also one LRP. The area is looking in top condition at the moment and alive with birds; breeding BH Gulls, waders and plenty of wildfowl. It's just goes to show what leaving a couple of flooded fields alone can do.
Rossie Bog, Fife
My first Scottish Marsh Harrier of the year, a female. Always nice to see up here; apart from a small breeding population at one location, this is an irregularly encountered species.
Nice find, and very welcome on a lot of Fife lists!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ali. Looking forward to the autumn there. Although I will have to try and split my time between there and Carlingnose of course!
