More vis migging in Fife...

Yesterday an early watch at Carlingnose Point, saw my first Skua, a dark Juv Arctic heading inland. Otherwise fairly routine passage for the time of year with Meadow Pipits (450), Grey Wags and Hirundines.
Today good evidence of wader passage with 8 Ruff in off the Forth at Levenmouth and then Inland, while single Black-tailed Godwit, 2 Golden Plover, 17 Redshank went over Kincraig Pt.
Seems like Ruff have had a good breeding season see here  http://oslobirder.blogspot.co.uk/  so might be a few flocks on the move this autumn.
Also at Kincraig Point another strong passage of Mipits while a very prominent passage of Red Admiral Butterflies SW along the cliffs was also noted along with a stunning fresh Painted Lady Butterfly settled.  Full totals here http://www.trektellen.org/trektelling.asp?telpost=104

3 migrant Goldcrest were in a small clump of Sycamores  below the cliff by the beach, after hearing them calling I went down to investigate but nothing else of note seen. Looks like a great little migrant trap though.

First Skua of the autumn heading inland at Carlingose Point. Skuas have been a bit slow to get going so far, but hopefully that means a good breeding season and a delay leaving the breeding grounds. Bring on the flocks of Long-tails and Poms.
