Lately not much to report, not helped by being knocked off my feet by some kind of virus last weekend. By mid week I was starting to feel better and went down to Carlingnose Point where I got one Juv Pom Skua. If I had been there on Monday I may well have seen a few more as they had 99 past Hound Point on the Lothian side of the Forth but then the conditions were classic for a push of birds up the Forth; strong NE winds and rain.
This weekend has been about slipping into the winter birding routine with a check of Rossie Bog and surrounding fields for geese and raptors. No goose flocks settled but a party of 38 Whooper Swan feeding in a flooded stubble field and a fem/Juv Merlin also seen.
