Bank Holiday Monday..
As predicted a huge improvement in the weather. Although the wind had switched to the SW, we were hoping that some downed migrants would be hanging on, taking advantage of the warmth to feed up following yesterdays S'easterlies and rain.
So in the afternoon took a trip out to Kilminning, Fife. Not what you could call a big fall of migrants but a couple of very smart looking birds in the form of a Male Pied Flycatcher and a male Common Redstart. Pied Fly was my first spring male in Fife.
Earlier at Letham no sign of yesterday evenings Wood Sandpiper and not much else although 3 Black-tailed Godwit included a bird with colour rings/Flags.
