Last week in the Highlands saw a return to winter with snow showers being blown in on a freezing northerly wind. A few summer visitors did struggle in with the highlight a cracking male Ring Ouzel feeding by the roadside.
Yesterday my first two Common Sandpipers of the year at Letham where the water levels look to be rising which is a shame. Today at Ferryhills a Juv Iceland Gull flew along the coast towards North Queensferry and very light visible migration included my first 2 Swift of the year along with a light trickle of hirundines and a Whimbrel.
