Less birding of late with the autumn migration over but I did make a visit to Ferryhills this morning in the hope of some cold weather movement and was rewarded with a flyover Snow Bunting (surprisingly a site tick) and 6 Brambling. I was also interested to see if the Northern Bullfinches had remained; heard some Bullfinch calling and had brief views of one but not enough to confirm.

Other outings lately have included Ruddons Point (Dec 3rd) where the regular drake Surf Scoter was typically miles away. Also a  visit to Pittencrieff Park in Dunfermline where up to two Nuthatch have been visiting a bird table on the edge of the park-still a very scarce bird in the county despite being well established now on the other side of the Forth in Lothian. No luck during my visit (Nov 26th) but lots of good habitat here not only for Nuthatch but  Hawfinch too; failed on both counts.

Good Nuthatch and Hawfinch habitat in Pittencreiff Park
