Friday
With weather not looking so promising for visible migration over the weekend I got in a couple of hours of watching at Ferry Hills before work and there was a push of Tree Pipits with 132 over the highest count of the year so far.
If the long range forecast is right ( light to moderate SW wind, settled) then next weekend could be the big one for Tree Pips.

Today
With wet conditions and a light to moderate NE wind, not dissimilar to the conditions on Monday when I went to Fife Ness with the bro, went back there but not such a lively sea watch. Generally always something to see here though with a steady passage of local seabirds, a few manxie and a Bonxie.

Some video grabs from my brothers visit last weekend of one of the Roseate Terns at Kinghorn (The Juvenile):

Juvenile Roseate Tern by Jon Sparshott. Wing pattern close to Juv Common Tern but weaker carpal bar and paler ground colour to plumage. Perhaps the most striking thing at closer range is the neat black crown including all black forehead, Juv Common and Arctic Terns having  a white forehead.

Bottom left with Ad and Juv Common Tern. Paler plumage, small size and shorter wings than the commons.
